Book Context
The Parlement of Foules (Parliament of Birds), written in 1381, is the first time in history that Saint Valentine’s Day was associated with love and romance. The story is a dream vision where the narrator observes the yearly pairing up of mates for all the different kinds of birds, under the guidance of Nature herself.

Notes on Texture
A new texture! This slime has a white glue base that is boosted with stearic acid, which gives it a wonderfully lush and soft texture. I landed on the name ‘lotion’, as this slime helps keep your hands from drying out!

Note: While I think this slime is amazing as is, it does have a little graininess that I did not intend. As the final texture is not where I’d like it to be, this slime will be discounted.

Notes on Scent
This is one of my absolute favorite blends, made by Rebecca’s Herbal Apothecary in Boulder, CO. It’s relaxing and comforting, without being overly floral.

Since ‘Parlement of Foules’ is a cornerstone of the history of Valentine’s Day, I designed a cover of what a book covering the history of the holiday might look like.
